M Resort: RECESS Best Family Pools in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is known for its summer pool scene: wild, over the top, and barely there bikinis and that’s just the cocktail waitresses! Some resort pools even have their own reality shows fueled on high drama and a lot of cocktails.
But where does that leave the families looking for a more family-friendly atmosphere? RECESS is setting out this summer to find Las Vegas locals and visitors alike some options that won’t have mom covering impressionable eyes and land dad in hot water for staring too hard.
Our next stop for the best family-friendly pools in Las Vegas is the main pool at M Resort. This all-ages pool has a $10 local-fee ($15 for your out-of-state-guest) daily from 10am-7pm, weather permitting. The pool is offering an August special, free admission on Fridays before 12pm, and a discounted rate of only $5 after 12pm. Parents will enjoy the pool’s cool features!
M Resort boasts over 100,000 square feet of pool and entertainment space. The main pool area features two, 5,460 square foot chlorine, heated, infinity edge pools and two large Jacuzzis surrounded by fire torches. Both pools are four feet at their deepest and feature an eight-inch wading depth pool on each end.
What We Liked
There are some cool features at the main pool! The extended pool shelf is flanked with comfy lounge chairs, half submerged in the water; this is great for parents with little ones still in swim diapers. You have easy access to the water, keeping everyone cool in those hundred-plus temps, while baby or toddlers can splash the day away.
Only four feet deep, the pool is a great space for older children who claim to be expert swimmers, but not too intimidating for younger kids still perfecting their doggy paddle.
You can reserve a daybed or cabana to escape the sun. The daybeds are just off the water and the most cost efficient way to go. If you’re looking to have the full experience, upgrade to a VIP cabana, loaded with flat screen TV, fridge and freeze, plus a safe to stow your valuables. It was nice to have the ability to charge our phones and enjoy a breeze from the ceiling fan in the VIP cabana as well. For daybed and cabana reservations and information, visit The M Resort website.
What to Bring
Outside food is not permitted in the pool area. So bring extra cash, food and beverage service is readily available for your enjoyment at the pool. There are two full-service bars on the main pool deck.
If you forget the floaties, complimentary life jackets are available upon request. The Pool Retail Hut offers suntan lotion, hats, sunglasses and other pool items for purchase and pool rafts are available to rent for the day. The pool also provides complimentary towels for pool guests. There are also restrooms within the pool areas.
