Here are the 10 Best Mobile Apps for Women in 2013. Lets face it, we women are flooded with new “techie” gadgets now more than ever.  According to She-conomy, 85% of brand purchases are made by women.  However, we also have some new hurdles to overcome, like the mass branding and an overwhelming amount of products that all claim these gadgets will make our lives better.  Brands have taken notice of our massive reach and now smartphone app designers have rowed over to our side of the pond as well.  Naturally, as women, we look to other women to share what products works for them and technology is no exception.

ABOUT:
Calm the chaos of family life!  Cozi makes your phone the ultimate family organizer with a shared calendar, grocery shopping and to-do lists, and a journal the whole family can access on the go.

COMMENTS:
This is my #1 busy mom pick.  For me personally, the shared lists are very handy.  When my hubby and I can share vital family planning information such as meeting times, party plans, family schedules and shopping lists all in one easy to use place, it cuts the guess work and added confusion which lets us focus on more important tasks.  On a side note, I also installed the Cozi Family Locator; this free app allows me to link other family members’ smartphones by GPS.  It’s by invitation only and I only linked one of my children with a smartphone.  She walks to school some days and it brings me peace of mind that I can see where she is, especially when she’s with friends.  You can even do check-ins and send private messages through the app.  Getting started takes a minor time investment, but once it’s up and running I found this app an everyday useful tool.  The calendar text message alerts have been a lifesaver so far!

COMMENTS:
The Pantry List has been my favorite part of the app.  I can scan, organize by category and list the entire contents of my pantry and fridge.  Not only does this save time, but also money is not wasted by purchasing items I already have.  It’s easy to create a grocery list from the pantry items that are out or running low.  I can even track pricing of items I’ve purchased in the past to help determine if the current price is a good deal or not.  This is a good app for those who coupon shop as well.  Track, list, and organize all in one place!

Are you currently being paid to shop?  That is what Ibotta is doing for me!  How it works is I choose from the listed products within the app, complete the task (uber easy), shop, scan my receipt,  and then get paid.  Once I’ve shopped I just scan my receipt and follow the easy instructions to earn my cash back.  At $5 you can cash out to a PayPal account.  I get my money within 12-24 hours, but more often than not I get it sooner.  The best part is I can still use other coupons with the Ibotta products, sometimes doubling my saving or resulting in free products altogether!

6.  CardMunch

Type: Business
Cost: FREE
Available at: iTunes App Store

ABOUT:
Take a picture with the app and a business card is converted to a contact automatically.  It will also show you LinkedIn profile information and connections you have in common.

COMMENTS:
I’m not a fan of clutter and sometimes business cards can fall into that category.  While attending events, working with brand partners, and just chance meetings with people, I find myself left with an overwhelming amount of business cards I don’t want to toss out.  New app updates gives me faster access to newer entries and the app will also sort by company.  If the cardholder has a Linkedin account, the app will give you the option to connect with them there as well.  If you need to control the clutter and have access to your connections, this app works well.

COMMENTS:
In 2012, I took a long hard look at budgeting and how to manage daily expenses.  After trying several unsuccessful ways to keep on top of spending, I found Mint.  It has made tracking the budget a breeze plus it keeps spending in check. The app will categorize transactions for me which saves time. I even track my children’s chores and allowances.

COMMENTS:
I’ve saved the best for last in my opinion!  I am fully addicted to this app and an intervention may be in the works.  Not only is it beautiful, aesthetically speaking, but the flow and ease of use rivals Pinterest.  I can integrate news and social media seamlessly in order to collect valid information that is tailored to my taste and interests.  Access to relevant content is effortless and comes with breakneck speeds when needed.  On busy days that I have little to absolutely no down-time, I was missing content left and right; I was unable to take time out and view tweets, posts, Instagrammers’ photos I love to see, let alone comment, share or like them.  The Flipboard designers have crawled into my thoughts, took a nap and banged out this gem!  If you are a busy mom that enjoys your social media, then you must have this app!
