Mom’s Morning Recess
If you’re just joining us after watching the ladies on The FOX5 MORE Show, welcome! After sharing our back to school lunch tips last week, we were thrilled to be asked back to share tips on how we get our Mom’s Morning Recess. Now that the kids have returned to school, many moms find themselves looking to connect with other Las Vegas mothers. Whether you’re looking to get a “Mommy Time-Out” or find other moms with similar interests, or perhaps toddler playgroups for siblings not old enough for school, connecting other moms is a great place to start.
Morning coffee after school drop-off seems to be a great time for local moms to take a breather, or as we like to call it- a morning recess. Morning round table talk shows are so popular because it gives moms at home the feeling of connecting with peers to discuss hot topics, national news and trends. We like to take this engagement off the couch and to our morning coffee tables.
Yes, moms need a night out too, shocker I know! So in addition to chatting it up with gal-pals in the am, Recess has some fun ways to have some “Ladies Night” fun too!
When I was expecting my third child, I was in desperate need of a girls night out once in a while. A friend asked if I’d be interested in joining a group of other women to play a dice game called Bunco once a month. I leaped at the change to hang out with a bunch of ladies for some conversation that didn’t center around “Did you eat all your dinner?” and, my favorite, “Did you wash your hands?”. Their group is still going strong and we’ve seen many births and made some lasting friendships through the years.
There are many ways to play, but the point is to get out and meet others while having a good time. You can get full game details and rules at the official Bunco website, Bunco.com.We found these great Bunco Party Printables on Tip Junky!
Tips For Putting on Bunco
- Rotate hosting duties with the group members monthly
- Start a Bunco Facebook group to exchange party planning information, dates, & locations. Keep it private & invite only for safety reasons
- Keep a bunco calendar, with whom is hosting when, and where in your Bunco supply box
- Host potluck style, everyone bring a dish (and when you’re new also bring a friend)
- Carpool and always designate a sober driver
- Add fun printable, like the ones above we featured on the FOX5 More show from Tip Junky
Crazy Hat Party
Get your glue guns out ladies! Throw a co-ed Crazy Hat Party with a signature drink. Recess loves the idea of creating fun props and the more outrageous the better! Thanks to Kat Balucci for donating all the fun hats we featured on Recess and FOX5 More Show this morning.
