Easy Winter Skin Care Tips
Winter can leave skin looking dull and lifeless. To keep skin radiant, I have some easy tips to incorporate into your winter skin care routine.
Moisturize heavily • Argan oil is my all-time favorite facial moisturizer. Not only does it soften the skin but it has healing properties as well. Occasionally my skin will get a small rash and the argan oil heals it immediately. Even if you have oily skin (like myself), do not be afraid of moisturizing with oils. Josie Maran’s line even offers a Light Argan Oil.
Don’t forget the rest of your body • Coconut oil is a natural oil that works great as a body moisturizer. Slather it on after bathing to ensure complete absorption.
Exfoliate daily • My absolute favorite way to exfoliate my body is with a Salux Cloth. Salux Cloths are a japanese cloth that is rather coarse but exfoliates like a dream! The skin on my knees was always rough growing up but this material exfoliates like no other. Keep one of these in your shower and use it daily with a little body wash. I do not recommend this cloth on your face.
Heal chapped skin • Rosebud Salve is a super soothing lip balm but can also be used on cuticles, elbows and knees to relieve dry skin. Stock up on these!
Take your Vitamins! Vitamins are vital to caring properly for your body. Fish Oil is one of the best supplements you can take for your skin because it will make the skin plump and moist from the inside out.
Protect your skin • Consider wearing winter gloves while out and about to create a barrier between your skin and dry air. The colder the air, the dryer it is. So sport some cute gloves for softer skin.
