Storytime at Town Square Las Vegas

Recently, Recess visited Storytime at Town Square in order to give you the skinny on what it’s all about. Voted “Best in Las Vegas”, this enchanting adventure into a world of reading comes to life with singing and dancing situated in a centralized park location within Town Square itself.  I was pleasantly surprised to see just how interactive it was for the kids.  The lively performers energize our Las Vegas youth and even offer prize drawings for reading books.

It’s been sometime since I was a stay-at-home mom with a calendar loaded with play-dates. Well to be exact, I still stay at home, but I also work from my home office which leaves little time for friendly get-togethers with other moms over coffee.  While our kids jumped and danced along, I took in all the mommies having play-dates with their girlfriends and children.  I even spotted a few daddies in the crowd (so sweet).  I thought this is a perfect place for “mommy and me” type play-dates.  Is it still called “mommy and me”?  You can see how long it’s been.

Dad & Daughter Enjoy Storytime at Town Square Together

Town Square is really a great place for this weekly event.  After the show we headed over to Yogurtland to treat the girls (and myself, I can’t pass up fro-yo).  I was even able to pick up a yummy to-go lunch of street tacos from Yard House to take to the hubs who works just down the street.

It was nice to girl chat with fellow Recess co-founder, Christa Schueler, while our girls played in the supervised playground.  But be warned, you’ll have to drink your latte before entering into the play area, only water is allowed in.

Storytime at Town Square is located at 6611 S Las Vegas Blvd A145, Las Vegas, NV right on the Vegas strip, just South of the famous Las Vegas sign.  Showtimes are every Wednesday beginning at 11am in the park next to Claim Jumper restaurant.  The show lasts about an hour.  Pack a lunch or snacks and eat right there during the activity.  And you may want to bring a blanket!
