With the Nevada real estate market now allowing homeowners to dust themselves off from the chaotic “post-bubble” storm, a new and respected brand will be embraced with open arms by residents looking for more integrity while buying or selling a home in Southern Nevada.
The bar for real estate professionals in Nevada has just been raised with the announcement of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand. Today marked the official launch date when hundreds of local real estate agents can proudly call themselves a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Agent and join the nearly 28,000 affiliated agents in 37 states.

In fact, Berkshire Hathaway is the No. 1 company in Barron’s annual ranking of the world’s 100 most respected companies; it ranks at No. 8 in Fortune magazine’s 50 Most Admired Companies survey; is No.18 in Harris Interactive’s reputation study of the 60 Most Visible Companies and most recently was awarded the 2014 “Real Estate Agency Brand of the Year” by Harris Poll EquiTrend Study a Nielsen company.
The announcement was made public yesterday that Las Vegas-based Prudential Americana Group, REALTORS® has joined the network operating as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Nevada Properties. Agents celebrated the long-anticipated announcement in branch offices located across Southern Nevada.
Then-Prudential Americana Group, REALTORS® agents got a preview of the changes to come during annual sales celebration held at Wynn Resort this past March 2014.
Paint The Town Cabernet and Cream- Open House Blitz!
In the weeks and months ahead, marketing and branding efforts to launch the new name will continue with events like the upcoming Open House Blitz. On Saturday, May 3rd, local agents with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (BSSHNV) will be “painting the town cabernet and cream” by holding open houses in as many home currently listed on the market with BSSHNV agents. A complete full-page ad along with listing of open houses will be published in the Review Journal.
Events like this will raise awareness in the community of the significance of the name change while cabernet and cream-colored “for sale” signs go up in front yards across the valley.

The Las Vegas Real Estate Market
The Las Vegas Real Estate market is on the rise with an 11.8% increase in medians sales price for homes in Las Vegas in April 2014 compared to April 2013. The average price per square foot for a home in Las Vegas was $111 in April 2014 which is another increase of 18.1% from same time last year.
There are currently over 6,000 homes for sale and over 15,000 homes that have just recently sold. Nevada still has one of the nation’s highest foreclosure rates, however the number of foreclosures continues to drop and is down almost 50% from the same time last year.
Popular Las Vegas neighborhoods that are currently seeing the biggest increase in home sales listing price include Peccole Ranch, Summerlin South and Summerlin.
