Social Media in Las Vegas
What happens when the most awesome bloggers in Las Vegas descend upon the hip-retro coffeehouse, The Beat, located in the heart of the Downtown Vegas Tech scene… and have way too much coffee to drink? That’s right, it’s Blogger & The Beat! Get your tickets here.
What is Blogger & The Beat?
Join us at The Beat Coffeehouse every last Friday of the month to network, share and learn about all-things social media and blogging in Las Vegas. This monthly workshop is powered by Recess and caffeinated by The Beat Coffeehouse.
We couldn’t think of a better venue than the hub of all things “tech” and “startup” in Las Vegas. In fact, Downtown is gearing up to be the next Silicon Valley. If you haven’t ventured near Fremont & 6th Avenue in a while, you probably won’t recognize it. Be sure to bring your Birkenstocks and backpacks if you want to fit in! Did I hear “Commonwealth after-party?”… you never know!
Space is limited and tickets are free so grab yours here through Eventbrite here. Special thanks to our sponsors for making this a free event!
Each month we’ll start off Blogger & The Beat with a brief “meet & greet” then we’ll break the ice with our creative “Open Mic” where a few select bloggers read a special post (images of Audrey Hepburn’s beatnik number flood my head).
Have a blog post you wish to feature at the event? Contact Melly Allen at [email protected] with your submission and inspire others through creativity when you present your content to the live audience. Bring focus on blogging in it’s original organic art form. We believe in the creative process and hope to rejuvenate it through this sharing process.
Our topic this month is “Blogger & The Business” where Toni Spilsbury will discuss how businesses benefit by working with bloggers.
“The power of the blogger is undeniable as Forbes Magazine recently described in an article, “Does Anyone Really Take The Mom Blogger Seriously?” (the answer was “yes”, by the way). Bloggers typically have a loyal following, especially within their niche area. They also have a strong social media influence and know how to use outlets like Twitter and Pinterest to reach the widest audience to promote content. So, how do you tap into this force and get bloggers to authentically write and Tweet about your business?
The age of the blogger perplexes some, but the reality is that bloggers bring a loyal following by engaging readers on a more personable, relatable and trustworthy level. Tapping in to a network of the “right” bloggers can bring businesses that same level of personal marketing.” -Toni Spilsbury
We’re excited to discuss our 30-Day Blogger Challenge campaign with truDerma for “losing that blogging weight” with their groundbreaking health products. Of course, we’ll have a Tweet-Up with some awesome prizes for our social media savvy mavens!
Join the Tweet-Up during the event to support our sponsors and learn new tips and tricks in the process. New to Twitter? No problem! The Recess staff will be on hand to guide you alone the way.
