WonderFall Chili

It’s a beautiful Fall day and Recess has another great recipe which is perfect for this time of year. Although, we’re still experiencing warm weather here in Southern Nevada, signs of the Fall season are still felt around the Vegas Valley. One of those signs can be found in the kitchen of The Organized Cook. Today she’s serving her Fall favorite: WonderFall Chili. Just the colors alone will remind you of autumn!

WonderFall Chili

WonderFall Chili


    • ground beef or turkey- 1 lb
    • onion- 1 small, peeled and minced
    • chili beans in sauce- 1 28oz. can, not drained
    • black beans- 1 15oz. can, drained
    • whole kernel corn- 1 15oz. can, drained
    • petite-diced tomatoes- 1 15oz. can
    • chili powder- 3 tablespoons
    • garlic salt- 2 tablespoons
    • paprika- 1 tablespoon
    • nutmeg- 1 teaspoon
    • multi-grain, multi-colored fish crackers* (*do not use for gluten-free version)



  1. In a large deep soup pot or Dutch oven, brown meat
  2. Add onion and cook with beef until translucent, approximately 4 minutes
  3. Add to remaining cooked beef all remaining ingredients: chili beans in sauce, drained black beans, drained corn, tomatoes, chili powder, garlic salt paprika and nutmeg
  4. Mix well and bring to a boil
  5. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let it simmer until cooked thoroughly, approximately 15 minutes
  6. Serve with fish crackers, unless using gluten-free version
