Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Las Vegas

October isn’t just about Halloween and cooler weather; it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So, you may be seeing pink among all that black and orange when traveling around town as there are many events throughout Southern Nevada both raising awareness and donations for this disease that affects hundreds of thousands of women every year.

Here are a few Breast Cancer Awareness events that you may be interested in attending:

The 5th Annual Rose Regatta Dragon Boat Race & Festival – Saturday, October 5th at Lake Las Vegas

Benefiting the R.E.D. Rose Program (Responsible Early Detection) at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, the Rose Regatta Dragon Boat Race & Festival is a community event featuring the ancient Chinese sport of dragon boat racing. The race begins at 8:00 am so get there early! For more information about the Rose Regatta event, please visit their website at www.strosehospitals.org.

 

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer – Saturday, October 5th at JW Marriott in Summerlin 8:00am – 12:00pm

Help to raise awareness for breast cancer and get in shape while doing it. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a national program through the American Cancer Society. By hosting walks around cities all over the country, the ACS brings the community together while raising money and awareness. Blue Celebrates Pink – Saturday, October 19th at the Blue Martini 8:00 – 11:00pm

The Blue Martini, located in Town Square, is one of my favorite places to have a martini so that’s why I’m excited about Blue Celebrates Pink benefiting Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada. Premium Outlets Pink Event – North & South Locations throughout October

During the month of October, donate $10 to support the cause and receive 25% off one single item from select stores at the Premium Outlets. Shoppers can visit the on-site Information Center at either the North or South location to donate $10 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and then enjoy a rewarding day of shopping! Pink for Life at Pink Nails – September 16h – November 6th at Pink Nails

The Pink Tee – Monday, October 21st at Southern Highlands Golf Club

Southern Highlands Charitable Foundation,Pacific Links and MJ Christensen Diamonds will be hosting The Pink Tee, a ladies only “giggle golf” and social event benefiting breast cancer organizations in Southern Nevada. Las Vegas Welcome Sign Goes Pink – Throughout October

During the month of October, the iconic Fabulous Las Vegas Sign will show its support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Residents and visitors will see those yellow bulbs replaced with pink ones and hopefully will know it’s because Sin City has a benevolent side.
