Toy Drives in Las Vegas 2013

Published On December 3, 2013 | By Christa Schueler | Charity, Community, Holiday

Spread a little Christmas cheer this year to those who are less fortunate by donating toys and various children’s items. So many of our fellow Southern Nevadans will need our help this holiday season as the effects of the recession are still felt around the valley. You can help make a difference by simply donating a new toy for a boy or girl who would otherwise have nothing to open on Christmas Day. For those looking to make a child’s Christmas merry, Recess has a list of local non-profits and businesses hosting toy drives.

Operation Warmheart’s Adopt-A-Family Program

Our men and women who serve in our military also face tough times. Operation Warmheart is dedicated to helping struggling families at both Nellis and Creech Air Force bases. They started the Adopt-a-Family program for families in financial crisis or separated by deployment. If you’d like to help, they are now accepting unwrapped toys at the visitor’s center until Tuesday. If you’d like to make a cash donation, you can do so through the Nellis Support Team.
