Make an Awesome Lemonade Stand This Memorial Day Weekend
Looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend? All of you Clark County School District parents out there have your children for four straight days thanks to Staff Development Day and the holiday and you’re probably thinking of fun-filled crafts, activities and various forms of entertainment to keep your young ones busy. Keeping with our Spring recipes with lemon theme, Recess has an awesome DIY project that you and your entire family can enjoy together, using….you guessed it, lemons. Make an awesome lemonade stand, an idea from the Organized Cook’s Family Bucket List, so your kids can stay busy and refreshed this holiday weekend.
What you will need:
Lemonade:
Cupcakes:
- white cake mix
- pink lemonade mix
- lemon frosting
- pink sugar sprinkles
Popsicles:
- pink lemonade (made from mix above)
- popsicle sticks or toothpicks with popsicle mold or ice-cube mold
Snow Cones:
- ice
- lemon berry-flavored jello to make jello water
- snow cone or italian ice machine
Free Lemonade Stand Printables from Toni Spilsbury:
First, make freshly squeezed lemonade. The Organized Cook used agave nectar to sweeten the lemonade since it’s much healthier compared to table sugar and artificial sweeteners.
Save your lemon peels! You’ll be using them later.
Make your snow cones using the empty lemon peels as bowls. Genius, not to mention, adorable. Crush up the ice and flavor with lemon-berry jello water
Don’t those look delicious and cute at the same time?
To make Pink Lemonade cupcakes, just use a white cake mix but substitute water with pink lemonade and prepare according to the directions.
To finish off the cupcakes, frost with lemon frosting and decorate with pink sugar sprinkles.
Now prepare your lemonade stand. $o.25 seems reasonable.
These lemonade gumballs were purchased from Home Goods.
Don’t forget the straws.
And also don’t forget the Pink Lemonade popsicles.
Make sure you have a box for all of the cash you’ll make.
Let your kids have fun by serving up the lemonade to customers.
