Celebrate National Iced Tea Day With a Pineapple Punch Cocktail
What does iced tea and pineapples have in common? Pineapple Punch Cocktail! To celebrate National Iced Tea Day (June 10, 2013), the ladies of Recess are bringing you this sinfully delicious iced tea cocktail recipe, Pineapple Punch, thanks to Drink Lab. You can celebrate this quirky holiday and feel like you’re relaxing on the beach at the same time. This recipe is also perfect for parties, but just so you know it does contain alcohol so it’s meant for grown-ups only. Sorry kids.
What You’ll Need
1 Bottle of Red Wine
1/2 Cup of Strongly Brewed Iced Tea
1/3 Cup of Apple Juice
1/4 Cup of Rum
1 Lemon (you’ll need the juice)
1/2 Cup of Sugar
1 Cup of Pineapple (cut into pieces)
3 Tablespoons of Sherry
A Large Punch Bowl
In a large punch bowl, place the pineapple pieces and pour the sherry over them. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Grab a pot to heat tea, sugar, red wine, lemon juice, apple juice and rum on the stove. DO NOT BOIL. Once the mixture is heated, pour over the sherry-covered pineapple pieces in bowl.
To make the drinks look tropical, serve in hollowed out pineapples and garnish with fruit and umbrella straws. Yum!
