What Is a Charter School?
Charter schools are public elementary, middle or secondary schools that are relatively autonomous schools of choice. They operate under a charter, or contract, issued by a public entity such as a local school district or State Board of Education. – State of Nevada Charter School Authority
Basically a charter school is managed by a private entity with approval by the state of Nevada. It differs from a regular CCSD school in that the curriculum can be tailored to be more challenging and innovative while still having to meet the minimum standards set forth by the State Board of Education.
