Vegas Give Camp: Bringing Technology to Those Who Need It
Vegas Give Camp To Provide Technology Solutions to Local Charities
Inaugural Vegas GiveCamp is June 28 – 30, 2013
During the first ever Las Vegas GiveCamp, nineteen Las Vegas charities will receive a tremendous gift: time. Over three-dozen volunteers will assemble next weekend at the Work in Progress offices in Downtown Las Vegas to lend their time and expertise to numerous worthy causes. Participating non-profit organizations are poised to receive new websites, new apps, and new database management programs among other technology services.
Some of the brightest minds in Nevada from the technology, marketing, and creative fields will donate an entire weekend to creating tech solutions for local charities, such as Baby’s Bounty, Nevada Public Radio, and Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas. For the entire weekend, teams will work, create, and even sleep in tents so that by Sunday night, these deserving organizations have new solutions to their technology woes. A complete list of charities benefiting from this event can be found at VegasGiveCamp.org.
Volunteer PR agent Tami Belt says of the event, “Vegas GiveCamp isn’t just about Downtown. When you talk about return on community, this affects the entire Valley. We’re reaching out into the community to non-profits all over Las Vegas. It may have started Downtown, but it’s truly about helping the entire community at large.”
This exciting event is the first community-founded Las Vegas event that bridges the gap between the fast growing Vegas technology scene with the non-for-profits supporting our community at large. GiveCamp is poised to truly make a difference in the lives of thousands of Las Vegans through offering the time and talent to help these charities’ long-term success.

About Work in Progress
The Work in Progress mission is to provide startups and creative thinkers with tools to inspire creativity and innovation. The tools we build include powerful events, useful partnerships and collaborative workspace. Some days you’ll need all of them, some days you won’t.
Membership in Work In Progress is about community, not just about workspace. You use the tools you need the most…when you need them. For some it’s our mentor office hour program while for others its workspace. As you grow your idea from a napkin to a company of 30, we want to be there to provide the right workspace, tools and learning opportunities to help you change the world.
